RCMP say the female officer had her vehicle's lights and sirens on when she collided with the Chevrolet Cavalier at the intersection of Kingsway and Royal Oak Avenue.
"We had two people in a Cavalier who were struck and both of them succumbed later to their injuries in hospital," said Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Jane Baptista.
